long-term goals

i actively update long term goals on haihai.link as items are completed over time - https://haihai.link/viewCollection/senaonp/goals

it helps summarize how time and effort is spent in a quantitative view and provides a positive feedback loop: the more datapoints accumulated, the more i am encouraged to keep up with progress on the long-term goals

this longpost is to provide context on how the long-term goals are managed.

  • favorite content data - raw data of haihai.link senaonpNian profile
  • routine - a description of daily routine
important note: for many of the quantitative measures, they are not lifetime totals.

for instance, i mainly count completed books, movies, and shows for content that i have consumed from the period of first recording journal entries and keeping personal records which starts from university years. if there is content on a series that i have consumed during this period, and i can reliably recollect that i have also consumed the series content in the past, then i will retroactively include this content, but the typical consideration is that the records do not include older items.

similarly, this emphasis on the active record-keeping period is why past items such as highschool coursework are not included, why the archived kanban starts from when this website was first produced, and why exercise and health records start from when i got apps to track datapoints

as an exception to this note, i do keep a lifetime count of video games played as they are one of the few items i have reliable datapoints for before personal record-keeping started (since i have the physical copies of the games).
